Scope and Dimensions

This is a part time role, three days per week or 48 hours per fortnight (0.6 FTE)

This is a contract position to 30 June 2018

Primary purpose:

To carry out marketing, advertising, communications, promotional and public relations practices in line with strategic and operational plans to ensure increased visitation and positive promotion of the Scitech brand.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively promote Scitech’sprograms, events and initiatives through a range of marketing activities
  • Assist in the creation, implementation and evaluation of marketing plans and strategies
  • Assist with the implementation of our annual media plan
  • Regularly update the team marketing calendar
  • Manage graphic requests from internal clients, ensuring briefs are sufficiently detailed
  • Work with our creative agency and in house designers to ensure all marketing collateral is developed to the highest standards and deadlines are met
  • LiaisewithScitech’sschool communications team to develop and implement a schools marketing strategy
  • Assisting in the implementation of the Scitech social media strategy
  • Assist the Marketing Manager and Director Marketing and Communications with any other tasks as required

Equipment / Technology used:

Microsoft Office suite, MailChimp, social media platforms, HootSuite, Creative Cloud

Skills and experience:

  • Relevant studies and qualifications inmarketing, communications or relevant field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communications skills in writing, editing and proofreading with strong attention to detail
  • Experience in co-ordinating marketing campaigns across multiple channels
  • Good understanding of and experience in digital marketing
  • Experience and understanding of social media including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Snapchat
  • Experience co-ordinating, negotiating and working with a variety of internal and external people to get the job done
  • The ability to work to deadlines, manage competing priorities and adjust to changing business needs
  • Working knowledge of Creative Cloud is desirable
