Author Guidelines
Review Process
Men in Nursing is a refereed journal. The editorial board reviews manuscripts for originality, timeliness, validity, and reader interest. Appropriate manuscripts (without author identification) are sent to at least two members of the editorial board. Some degree of revision is almost always required.
The manuscript should follow the style outlined in these guidelines. If a manuscript is accepted for publication, the authors must transfer copyright. No part of the published material may be reproduced elsewhere without the written permission of the publisher.

Double-space manuscripts, using 12-point type and 1-inch margins. Style should conform to The Chicago Manual of Style. Manuscripts are received with the understanding that they have not been previously published and are not currently under consideration for publication in any other journal. All manuscripts are subject to editing. The author assumes final responsibility for the content of the manuscript, including responding to author queries. Confine text to a maximum of 3,000 words (including sidebars).
In addition to the title, include the full name, degrees, and hospital or university affiliation of each author on the title page. At the bottom of the title page, include the mailing address and the telephone and fax numbers of the author to whom communications and proofs should be sent. The title page is page 1.
References
Please ensure that all citations are complete before submission. Number references consecutively in the body of the manuscript and place reference citations at the end of the article. Don't reference commonly held opinions and perceptions unless their history is the article's principal topic. Use the standard practice for legal citations.
Double-space and numerically list references in a list in the order in which they appear in the article. Ensure that references are complete and no more than 3 years old, identifying abstracts, and supplements. References should follow AMA style, as shown in the examples below.

Number and title each table and cite it at least once in the text.
Bibliographies
Generally not included in Men in Nursing.
Figures
Figures may include any tables, charts, diagrams, sketches, maps, example of forms, etc., which accompany the article. Use and placement of figures is at the editors' discretion. Figures must be:
- cleared for publication through appropriate authorities
- legible and reproducible
- referred to specifically in text and numbered in sequence.

Research criteria
Place research or study criteria in a research box, and include:
- purposes or goals
- location and description such as type of network, hospital, or unit and patient volume
- time frame
- population, such as demographic profiles, census, clinical status, or other relevant data
- collection tool such as a questionnaire, interview, observation, Adelphi processes, or brainstorming
- sample size, including number of returns and percent of usable response.
