Freezer Facility User Information Sheet
The Freezer Facility is a shared resource for the University of Miami Faculty that allows for the long term storage of freezers containing archival samples, infrequently accessed samples, and the temporary storage of freezers while laboratories are being renovated or new recruits are in transition to UM. The Department of Facilities and Support Services (DFSS) coordinates with the Miller Office of Research and Innovative Medicine (RIM) and Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) to ensure the storage facility is operational and compliant with the policies of the University and regulatory agencies.
This form must be completed and submitted prior to any space being allocated. All Faculty utilizing the Facility are required to adhere to the Freezer Facility Guidelines. Failure to abide by these guidelines could result in a request by DFSS, RIM or EHS to remove equipment and samples from the Facility at the Principal Investigator and/or Department expense.
