Company and Position Introduction
TNT Trans will be a North Carolina based trucking company whose goal is to become one of the largest trucking companies in the United States. The company’s focus will be on moving freight of all kinds from coast to coast. TNT Trans chose trucking based on its dominating presence in the freight industry along with its stable and encouraging growth prospects throughout the country.
TNT Trans will offer statewide, regional, and cross-country deliveries of freight. Most of the company's business will be derived initially through brokerage firms until direct contracts with corporations are established. The company services will be attractive to companies from a vast variety of industries. Several potential customer segments that TNT Trans will provide transportation services to have been identified to include: retail, automobile, food and beverage, paper, and other.
The strategy of TNT Trans is to build a contractual client customer base by making timely deliveries, hiring qualified staff, and having a competitive pricing structure. The company’s goal for its startup year is to solidify contracts to move freight cross country for reputable corporations. Within five years, management’s goal is to operate a full-service trucking business with several fleets of trucks. TNT Trans would like to be in a position to handle any transportation request at this stage of development.
TNT Trans will strive to become known as a dynamic employer who rewards employees with quarterly bonuses and numerous other incentive programs. A positive stress-free work environment will create a dynamic workforce that will strive to put the company far above their competition.
In order to meet the demands of the trucking industry, TNT Trans plans to employ 20 company drivers within its first year of existence. The drivers will play a vital role in the success of the company's business. They will be responsible for transporting TNT Trans' freight to designated shipping destinations. Unlike 99% of the other trucking companies in the industry, TNT Trans will center its infrastructure around its drivers. All drivers will be interviewed and hired by a Driver Liaison who will remain a direct point of contact throughout the driver’s career at TNT Trans. Through bonuses and incentives, management will let driver’s know that their hard-work and dedication will be rewarded. JOB SUMMARY
Pick-up and deliver shipments to assigned shippers and consignees along the eastern United States, maintain shipping documents, hours of service, and tractor trailer equipment.

Safely drive a ten-speed tractor and 53 foot trailer along the eastern United States border to pick-up and deliver shipments to assigned destinations.
2. Planning25%
Coordinate with assigned dispatcher, shipper, and receiver to identify time effective routes. Utilize a Rand McNally map to plan a safe route for a tractor trailer. Schedule breaks and driving schedule based on pick-up the shipment pick-up time, delivery time, and distance between the two destinations.
3. Record Keeping10%
Record all time driven, breaks, vehicle maintenance issues, and time-off on a Department of Transportation approved log. Maintain shipping documents and ship back to corporate headquarters at the completion of each trip assignment.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Recruiting Strategy
TNT Trans management team will aggressively recruit company drivers to transport their freight by employing two Driver Liaison's who will be responsible for screening applicants, interviewing applicants, and processing hiring documents. Advertisements in trucking magazines and on internet search engines that look specifically for trucking jobs will run continuously in order to create an on-going applicant pool to draw from at any time. Initially the company will hire 20 drivers, but over the next two years, the company intends to employ 50 additional drivers.
