POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
General Rules:
The Flight Operations Pathway is a rigorous pathway, therefore: attendance is important and focus within the classroom is essential. Students will be treated as young adults with all the expectations that come with being young adults. Aviation uniforms are required for field trip and are the preferred attire for students when the class has guest speakers. Food and drink are strictly prohibited in the classroom.
Grading Policies:
Grades will be a compilation of class work, quizzes, tests and projects. Homework will not be graded, but students will be quizzed and tested on the content of the homework. The tests and quizzes will come from the bank of FAA test questions for the Private Pilot Written Exam. The class will review these daily. There will be a quiz every Friday with a cumulative test every 9 weeks, at the end of the first quarter and at the end of the course.
Grading Scale:
60% Tests and Projects
40% Classwork
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Flight Operations Pathway consists of the materials necessary to pass the FAA written exam for the private pilot certification. Although students may or may not wish to pursue flying as there are many career options in aviation, once the three pathway courses are completed students will receive an endorsement in their logbooks in order to take the written exam which serves as the End of Pathway Exam.
