Thank you for your interest in MANUKURA for 2015.

We extend a warm welcome for you and your whānau to attend our Orientation Day where you have the opportunity to experience a day in the life ofMANUKURA. Attendance by no means commits you or us to 2015, but it is an important component for assessing suitability for both parties as to whether MANUKURA meets your individual needs.

Please ask questions and seek clarification on any areas you are unsure about and enjoy yourself. Time management is key so be efficient between activities. Some of the current students will be participating in the day with you.

What you need to bring

  • Prepare a brief mihimihi to introduce yourself
  • Pen
  • Paper
  • Running shoes and Indoor court/netball shoes/ rugby boots
  • Clothing for conditioning, sport and a change for the end of the day (see programme)
  • Toiletries and two bath towels for showering
  • Water bottle & healthy snack foods
  • $2 for carparking at MURC

Please note:

Lunch will be provided by us but you may like to bring additional snacks.

To maximise the day you need to be physically and mentally prepared. Have an open mind and be prepared to meet new people, engage with challenging aspects and really look hard at whether this is right for you.

I strongly recommend you have a practice YOYO test before you come and that you maintain a conditioning programme up till the day. This way you will have no regrets and can leave saying your pleased with your efforts and attitude. Please let us know your prefered playing positions in order of preference when your reply.

Offer of Place

Within 1 -2 days of Orientation Day concluding we will make contact with each whanau either making an offer of place or a shortlisting option. Acceptance or Declines of offer are required by October 15th to assist in planning accurately for 2015. This includes the acceptance letter and fee deposit. For those accepting a 2015 position we will then follow up with information pertaining to 2015 operations in October.
