Project description

  • Upgrade of A45 Roundabout at RushdenLakes to increase circulatory capacity and increase capacity on approaches.
  • Complete reconstruction of the Development Access Road.
  • Upgrade of A5001 Crown Way and B645 Northampton Road, providing additional capacity.
  • Introduction of a Link Road between B645 and A5001, including a Traffic signal control at the eastern end of the Link Road.
  • Introduction of a roundabout to A5001 Crown Way / Northamptonshire Road.
  • Provision of a footbridge / cycleway over the B645 linking the Development to the East Northamptonshire Greenway.
  • Provision of a Toucan Crossing to A5001 Northampton Road.
  • Associated upgrades to Highway Infrastructure.
  • Landscaping throughout the improvement area.

Main TM elements

  • A45 all lanes runningfull width with permanent 50mph speed limit now in place.
  • Off peak lane closures.
  • B645 and A5001 will mainly be verge works with cones or barrier in place and a 30 mph speed limit in place. Off peak full closures, lane closures or temporary traffic lights.
