Programme Coordinator, IUCN Pakistan

IUCN Asia Region currently has more than 500 staff members working in its offices in 9 countries (Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam). The IUCN Asia Regional Office in located in Bangkok, Thailand.

REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES: The Programme Coordinator will report to the IUCN Pakistan Country Representative (CR) on all programme and administrative matters, and to the Regional Programme Coordinator, Asia on all programme coordination matters.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the guidance of the IUCN Pakistan Country Representative, and working in close collaboration with all technical staff, the Programme Coordinator, will coordinate the IUCN Pakistan Programme at the country level to ensure effective and timely development, planning, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of an integrated and coherent programme for IUCN Pakistan.

The main responsibilities are:

  1. Programme and Project Planning, Monitoring and Reporting
  2. Programme and Project Development
  3. Capacity Development in Planning, Monitoring/Evaluation and Reporting

DUTY STATION: The position of Programme Coordinator IUCN Pakistan will be based in IUCN Pakistan Country Office in Karachi.

DURATION: The initial contract will be for a period of 2 years with long term prospects for the right candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

The successful candidates will have:

  • A post-graduate degree in natural resources management or relevant discipline.
  • At least 8 to 10 years of experience and competence in conservation and development fields at a senior level with strong analytical, negotiation and leadership skills.
  • A self-driven personality with credibility, aptitude and ability for problem solving and decision making.
  • Experience in project implementation and execution and an aptitude for training activities with the ability to secure and deliver high quality outputs under pressure.
  • Proven ability in programme and project managementand coordination.
  • An understanding of technical and institutional complexities in the Asia Region (and particularly in Pakistan) and proven ability to work with international teams.
  • Ability to network with multiple stakeholders of diverse profiles.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills in English.
  • Knowledge of Urdu will be an added advantage.
