Description of the Study and Your Part in It
Dr. Jangsup Choi, Dr. Salvatore Attardo, Dr. Ricky Dobbs, and Jason McCain (Texas A&M University-Commerce) are inviting you to participate in a web-based online survey on an open textbook use study.
The purpose of this research is to studystudent perceptions regarding the use of textbooks. You will be asked to share your opinions and ideas of how you use and perceive textbooks. It will take you about10 minutes to complete this survey.
Risks and Discomforts
There are minimal risks to participating in this research.However, these do not pose any morerisk than those a person would experience in everyday life.
Possible Benefits
While your participation may not specifically benefit you, we believe it will improve the generalunderstanding of student textbook use and learning experiences.
Incentives
No incentives are offered.
Protection of Privacy and Confidentiality
Your survey answers will be sent to a link at Qualtrics.com where data will be stored in a password protected electronic format.All information you provide is completely confidential. For those who mark the yes box on the consent form, the data will be put into SPSS and then saved on password-protected computers located in the political science department at A&M-Commerce. Information and the data provided will remain confidential and will be stored indefinitely on secure,password-protected computers to which only the authorized researchers have access.
Choosing to Be in the Study
You do not have to be in this study. Participation is voluntary.You may choose not to take part. You will not be punished in any way and your grade will not be affected. To take part in the study, you need to read the consent form and mark the yes box. If you don’t want to take part in the study, you need to read the consent form and mark the no box.
