COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES – LEGISLATIVE SESSION

CALL TO ORDER
President of Council Pro-Tem Randy Fischesser called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM.
INVOCATION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mr. Fischesser led those in attendance in the Our Father and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mr. Cox, Mr. Gertz, Mr. Lynd, Mr. Albrinck, Mr. Lindeman, Mr. Ashbrock, Mr. Fischesser.
Other City Officials Present; Mayor Robert Bemmes, Treasurer Mel Gertz, Law Director Dave Stevenson,
& Clerk of Council Carla Kacher.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
READING OF ORDINANCES
(1) THE FOLLOWING BUDGET FOR CALENDAR YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2018 HAS BEEN ADOPTED
BY COUNCIL AND HEREBY SUBMITTED FOR CONSIDERATION OF THE HAMILTON COUNTY BUDGET
COMMISSION
This ordinance was declared a second reading only.
(2) AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE AUDITOR TO TRANSFER $26,158.67 FROM THE CITY
EARNINGS TAX FUND TO THE STREETS & CURBS FUND, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
Motion made by Mr. Gertz, seconded by Mr. Ashbrock to suspend the rules requiring a second and third reading. Motion carried by a 7-0 roll call vote. Motion made by Mr. Lindeman, seconded by Mr. Cox to adopt the ordinance. Motion carried by a 6-0-1 roll call vote, with Mr. Fischesser recusing himself.

OTHER BUSINESS
Dave Stevenson –
(1) Requested Council’s permission to enter into the joint agreement on the pipeline
Motion made by Mr. Lindeman, Seconded by Mr. Ashbrock to grant permission to Mr. Stevenson. Motion carried by a 7-0 roll call vote.
(2) Disposition of abandond of property – If the property is no longer used by the school the municipality can be returned to productive use.
Mel Gertz – House Bill 49: Still a lot of debate is occurring. Will keep us posted.
Tim Cox – Attended a Learning Collaborative for WeThrive: July 19 6pm-8pm in Council Chambers.

There being no further business, Mr. Fischesser declared the meeting adjourned at 7:59 PM.
