o Honorariums

§ Discussion cautioned making decisions about who Chapter will provide honorarium.

· Paying speakers directly creates tax issues, 1099, etc

· Suggestion make to include letter, that says it’s an honorarium in the name of speaker, doesn’t imply endorsement by AGA

o Letter with check will help. In the past we’ve done online payments and not always opportunity to make comments regarding why the donation

§ Rick will get a copy of a letter used by another organization as an example

§ Consensus is letter accompanying check will help manage perceptions.
