REGULAR MEETING

JULY31, 2012 - 5:00 P.M.

The regular meeting of the Warren County Special Services School District Board of Education was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Board President William Spencer.

Notification of the meeting was given in accordance with the requirement of the New Jersey Open Public Meeting Act, Ch. 231, P.L. 1975 and sent to The Daily Record and the Star Ledger and the Administrator/Clerk of the Board of the County of Warren.

Those present saluted the flag and observed a moment of silence in honor of those serving in the military.

Ms. Catterson administered the oath of allegiance to Kevin Brennan - term to expire June 30, 2015.

APPROVAL OF BOARD MINUTES

Motion by Ms. Howell, second byMs. Deutsch to approve the minutes of the June 26, 2012Regular Board Meeting and the July 10, 2012 Reorganization Meeting.

Vote: 5 – Yes, 1 – Abstention(KB). Motion carried.

SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT

  3. Summer School Conclusion – Mr. Dragotta thanked Ms. Stano for her work during the summer program.
  4. Board Members Invitation to Orientation – August 24th from 8:30 to 3:30 at Pohatcong School. The board requested extending an invitation to Freeholder, Jason J. Sarnoski and to contact the Express-Times.
  5. Professional Development Plan – Accepted with one condition that we state which model we will be using for staff evaluations.

Mr. Hopek informed the board that we are on scheduled to run the October 3, 2012 Warren County School Board Meeting. The board discussed what type of program and where they would hold the meeting.

FINANCE REPORT

Motion by Mr. Hopek, seconded by Ms. Howellto approve the following action items:

  1. Approval of Check Register(s)

BE IT RESOLVED; that the Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the School Business Administrator approves the June 30, 2012 bill list in the amount of $85,574.00 and July 31 bill list in the amount of $256,558.16.

  1. Transfer of Funds

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the School Business Administrator approves the transfer of uncommitted funds within the 2011-2012 school year budget as per the attached list.

PERSONNEL RECOMMENDATIONS

Motion by Ms.Reitmeyer, second by Ms. Howell,upon recommendation by the Superintendent that the Board approves the following:

  1. RESOLVED, to approve Ms. Kathryn Davis, Reading Specialist, lateral move from Step 7-8 BA+15 ($50,885.) to Step 7-8 BA+30 ($51,685.) on the 2012-2013 Teachers Salary Guide effective September 1, 2012.
  1. RESOLVED, to approve Ms. Melissa Rush, Full Time Personal Aide for W. S. of North Warren Regional at Warren County Tech ESY Program, at $12.00 per hour with all costs billed to the North Warren Regional School District and based on the continued contract with the sending district, effective retroactively to July 2, 2012.
  1. RESOLVED, to approve employment of Ms. Rosanne Mc Cann of McCann Educational Consulting, as a LDT/C Independent Contractor at $50.00 per hour for meetings and $250.00 for evaluations, effective August 1, 2012.
  1. RESOLVED, to approve employment of Ms. Elizabeth Hess of Yorkshire Physical Therapy as a Physical Therapist Independent Contractor at $50.00 per hour for meetings,

$70.00 per hour for therapy treatment and $250.00 for evaluations, effective

September 1, 2012.

  1. RESOLVED, to approve employment of Mr. Stephen De Monte as a Full Time Classroom Aide in the LLD program at WC Tech at Step 1 ($17,560.) of the 2012-2013 Teacher Aide Salary Guide, effective September 1, 2012.
  1. RESOLVED, to approve employment of Ms. Elizabeth Clark as a Full Time Classroom Aide in the LLD program at WC Tech at Step 1 ($17,560.) of the 2012-2013 Teacher Aide Salary Guide, effective September 1, 2012.
  1. RESOLVED, to approve Grace Norci’s request to stay on Step 9 ($20,295.) of the 2012-2013 Teacher Aide Salary Guide, effective September 1, 2012.
