Call to order: 6:03 pm

-Career Studies – my Blueprint – progress requirements – students can log in via N.H.H.S web site, OEN #, my Blueprint, NHHS, create acct., D.O.B. – will match student with the student data exported from the board’s Maplewood program.
- Full of information for students to help choose the pathway that is best for them.
-High School planner, Post secondary planner (all Canadian colleges & Universities) listed to choose career choice.
-A great tool for guidance, teachers and students.

Parents Reaching Out – grant application deadline May 1st. 2015 – Ken and Colleen to explore possibility of applying for Outdoor Facility Renewal dollars
PIC – Wendy – disappointed with PIC, feels all the same stuff, Ministry would like more parents involved in schools. More difficult when students reach high school, parents have the tendency to back off a little.
Upcoming Dates: April 14 – Prom Project great event
April 27 – mid terms come home
May 5th to 8th – JEDI New York trip. Ball game Yankees vs Baltimore and several other educational stops
May 4th to 8th – Education Week Theme – Moving Math Forward
May 22nd – NHHS Prom
June 1 & 2 Damian Cooper – two day workshop for Mr. Dostaler, Lynn Andrews, and department leaders.
June 25th – NHHS Graduation
Principal’s update
-SIPSA – good attendance & lower suspension rates (down over last 5 years)
-Timetables – 2015/2016 course choices completed and the timetables for next year are being organized now. There are enough students signed up for N.O.S and N.E.R.D.S. to proceed next year
-Dress code – survey done with students, wanting to do a positive approach to students to impress on students what to wear. Life Touch doing posters.
-MADD – school council member’s voted as to whether to have MADD return to NHHS for a presentation this year. All in favour to keep them coming to NHHS.
-Computer Advisory committee IT – rooms 206 & 120 new smart boards, white boards, more ipads, tablets, 60 new computers thru out the school
Excellent improvements to NHHS.
-Annual Administrator Profile Recommendations – Ken read points presented from School Council input. Approved by School council Colleen signed, Ken to sign and forward on.
-Husky Cash Grab – going ok. Outdoor Facility Renewal committee continues to meet. Ken will forward summary notes and meeting dates to all SC members.
-McMaster – first time for Mental Health and school to have input in survey together. Will run at NHHS between April 27-29. Passive consent forms to be sent home.
-Youth Advisory Board – a survey was done by Board with some NHHS students, and while this is a good thing, it was not approved by the NHHS admin. As a school we support this board, this recent questionnaire was not approved or vetted by HPEDSB.
-Student council is excellent this year, great work throughout each semester.

Quad S.I Program – Ontario principals council to better our area. Mike Rumleski, Scott Simpson, Brian Poste and Mr. Dostaler attended in Torontoand presented at the board level their ideas. Moira, Picton and Trenton similar schools to ours were in comparison.
Focus on Applied - pre assessment on grade 9 & 10, thinking inquiry, confidence
- our school has math specialized teacher’s to step in when our math teacher’s come to retirement
- our past rate for our students are relatively high
Ministry – EQUA – new tool, kindergarten to grade 12 – administer’s meet once a month
Tasha & Rea – Hallowe’en Spirit Day – GOOD!
Events coming up - Remembrance Day Assembly, Anit Bullying Week, Culture for Care, Huskies Spirit Day – talent show.

Parents Reaching Out Grants – Tour for Humanity bus – Canada World Studies, well received this year. More Canadian history on the bus.
Parent/Teacher Interviews – staffmeeting all about to not many parents showing up. teacher’s not available either.
