QCAA 2012 AAU Tryout Information: Girls’ Division

  • No cost for Camp, Skills sessions or Tryouts
  • All sessions open to girls in 5th - 8th grade for 2012.
  • Camp and Skills/Drills sessions are optional but encouraged.
  • Multiple teams in an age group in the event there are qualified players/coaches.

AAU Team Structure

  • Each team will represent QCAA while participating in the AAU, USBA or YBOA Tournaments.
  • In the 2012 inaugural season, each team will generally stay within the NC/SC area.
  • The team’s tournaments will be selected by the coach after consultation with Coach Nicosia and Coach Addie.

TRYOUT INFORMATION:

Players will be evaluated by QCAA staff and coaches during skills sessions and tryouts. Team size will be 10-12 players per team.

At the conclusion of the last AAU Tryout Date, all players will receive an email from QCAA to notify you if you've made the team or not. Upon receipt of an invitation, a player will have 48 hours to accept or decline an invitation onto a QCAA team.

To accept a team invitation, players must respond to Coach Nicosia or Coach Addie and pay a deposit of $95 via check or Pay Pal link on the club website. This deposit shall be credited toward the Annual Player Fee for AAU.

Once a player commits to a team, her spot will be reserved.

Club fees are as follows:

  • Team Practice
  • QCAA Club T-Shirt
  • QCAA Game Uniform Rental (property of QCAA)
  • QCAA Practice Jersey Rental (property of QCAA)
  • Skill Development Sessions

Team Practices:

  1. Teams may practice (2) days a week at club expense.
  2. Club practice is 1.5 hours.
  3. Teams not participating in a National Tournament will endpractice June 15.
  4. Practice gym locations and times will be determined by QCAA and coaches and final times/locations announced at the conclusion of tryouts.

Practices may begin the week of April 16. Tentative practice schedule:

6th Grade Girls: Monday and Wednesday evenings

7th Grade Girls:Wednesday and Thursday evenings

  • Teams must fund-raise to pay for any additional tournaments.

Payment Options:

  • $95.00 payment:Due upon acceptance to team.
  • $100.00 payment:Due by May 1
  • 100.00 payment:Due by May 15
  • Game uniforms & merchandise will be issued only when participation fees are paid.
  • No participation fee discount for relatives of QCAA coaches.
  • Multiple sibling discounts:$295.00 for first player & $225.00 for each additional player
  • REFUNDS: No refunds will be issued after a player plays in one tournament
