Please find attached the list of questions and follow-up presented at the Face to Face Session regarding the new Family Center and Child Care Center located at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Elementary School.

What does fixturing for the Family Centre include? ie. furniture, materials

It includes furniture that is comparable to other Family Centre locations across the City.

What happens if after 5 year lease the organization would no longer wish to act as the Lead Agency?

The lease agreement is for 5 years.

If a co-lead model for the Family Centre is being presented how should I present this in the EOI?

Within the expression of interest, the agency should identify this within their vision and plan.

Is this a complete new build and when is the proposed completion date?

Yes, this is an addition that is being added to the school with a proposed completion date of September 2019.

What spaces are shared between the Family Center and Child Care?

The Staff lounge, a washroom and the laundry facilities.

What is the school population?

The projected enrollment for September 2018 is 260 children.

Will the child care have weekend access?

The Child Care will have its only access to their space and they can access it on weekends, however, custodial services and use of other spaces in the school (ie. Gym) would need to be negotiated, and additional charges would apply.

Are they additional charges for custodial for weekend access and summer access?

Custodial services are covered Monday through Friday between 7 am and 9 pm. Any additional custodial needs would need to be arranged with the board and would subject to an additional expense. Summer hours fall within the same parameters – however, summer hours may vary slightly from regular school year hours at the school (ie., there may only be a custodian on site until 6 p.m. instead of 9 p.m.)

Will the Child Care be furnished?

The School Board has allocated a budget to cover basic furnishings in the child care.

Is phone and internet included in the rent?

The LDCSB will provide a drop for connection to phones and internet however, it is the responsibility of the Family center and Child Care Provider to cover the expenses of hook up and usage.

Does one reference need to be from a school board? We have never been in this type of partnership?

LDCSB would accept a reference from another partnership you may have been in.

Can you apply for both or just for one?

Organizations are more than welcome to apply for both the Lead of the Family Center and the Child Care provider, or just one. If applying for both Child care and family centre lead , organizations will need to do so following the RFP for child operator expression of interest and Expression of interest through the Child and Youth Network separately.

What is the next step?

Once the lead agencies are announced, there will be a community engagement process and then a collaborative neighbourhood service plan will be developed.

Is it anticipated that both announcements will happen at the same time?

The Family Center recommendation will be brought forward to Governance on May 17th, and the LDCSB will be awarding the Child Care Provider on/after May 10th.

How may parking spaces will there be?

A request has been made for 26 but is subject to site plan approval.

Will the Lead Agency have any flexibility for layout?

At this time the plans for both the child care and family center are in Site approval with the City of London, therefore unless changes are mandated as a result of this approval process, no changes will be able to be made to the floor plan.
