1 – Protect windscreen
[Visual transition/change]
The screen transitions to a show of a red car in the middle of a white room with various tools and objects around the edge of the room. A mechanic who is wearing white gloves steps up to the front of the car and lefts both of the windscreen wipers up off the windscreen so they are freely standing up off the car.

Lift wipers
[Narrator]
Let’s begin with the front windscreen. Lift the wipers off the windscreen so they ‘hover’ in the air. They’ll do this on their own. Place the mat between the wipers and windscreen.
[Visual transition/change]
The mechanic then proceeds to place a large black map across the entirety of the front windscreen, leaving the wipers still standing up in the air.

Remove old wipers
[Narrator]
Remove the wiper blades from the wiper arms. There is a clip where the two meet where the wiper blade can be detached.
[Visual transition/change]
Once unclipped, the mechanic pushes the wiper arm down so it is now flat on the black mat which was placed onto the windscreen. He continues to do the same for the second front wiper blade and then travels to the side of the room to place both of the old wiper blades down on top of a red tool chest.

Lower arm
[Narrator]
As you remove the blade, lower the arm onto the mat, rather than leaving it in the air as before to avoid causing damage to the glass.

3 – Fit new wiper blades
[Visual transition/change]
The screen transitions to a shot of the mechanic picking up both of the new wiper blades up from a red toolbox in the corner of the white room. He removes the white plastic packaging which is covering one of the black wiper blades and proceeds to walk over towards the car. Starting with the right-hand side wiper blade, the mechanic proceeds to insert the new wiper blades into the wiper arms by clicking them in until them make an audible sound.

Install new blades
[Narrator]
Hold on to the new blade and raise the wiper arm. Fix the new blade onto the wiper arm either by lowering the blade on the pin until it clicks, or hooking it into position, depending on your wiper blade type. If your car has a rear windscreen wiper, go to the back of the car and repeat the same steps.
[Visual transition/change]
The screen changes to a shot of the mechanic at the back of the car and he replaces the back-wiper blade in the same fashion as with the front two windscreen wiper blades.

4 – Add screen wash
[Visual transition/change]
The screen transitions to a shot of the side of the red car, facing the left passenger side front door. The mechanic proceeds to open the door and swing it all the way open, he then lefts open the latch which enables access to the front bonnet. The screen transitions to a shot of the front of the car, with the mechanic opening the bonnet and using the interior latch on the right hand side of the car to prop the metal bonnet open.
[Text displays]
Raise the bonnet
[Narrator]
Make sure your engine is cool as you’re going under bonnet into the engine bay. Pop the bonnet and make sure it’s safely propped up using the car’s bonnet rod.
[Visual transition/change]
The mechanic then ventures over to the side of the room and picks up a bottle of screen wash which is blue in colour and returns to the car’s bonnet. He proceeds to open the blue lid to the windscreen washer tank which is situated in the bottom left of the underside of the bonnet.

Locate reservoir cap
[Narrator]
Choose the screen wash most appropriate to your weather conditions, find the reservoir cap, which is often blue with a spray symbol, and lift the flap.
[Visual transition/change]
The mechanic then proceeds to pour the screen wash until the tank is completely full.

Pour in the screen wash
[Narrator]
Open reservoir cap, and being careful to follow the screen wash dilution instructions, pour in the screen wash.
[Visual transition/change]
The mechanic then closes the cap for the windscreen washer tank and then following this, he unclips the rod holding the bonnet open and shuts the bonnet closed.
