Carol – Europe Recruitment Trip

-Carol recently returned from a successful recruitment trip in Europe, participating in a number of recruitment and strategic activities in Germany and the UK. In Germany, Carol did presentations to German University students who are considering studying abroad for a semester or for a Master’s program. The presentations were in various cities around Germany and ranged from 30 to 60 students. She also visited exchange partner universities in Germany and London, and met with Recruitment Agents in both countries. Carol also visited high schools in the UK, presenting to students looking to study in Australia.

Excellent feedback from an Inbound Student

-Athira received an email from a Japanese student saying:

Dear Ms Athira

Finally my exchange study has come to an end and I'm leaving Perth in the early morning tomorrow. I appreciate your big help. This year was challenging but the best year ever.

My words cannot express how much I appreciate your help and how wonderful the Murdoch life was. Thank you so much, I'm happy you are our exchange students supporter.

Sincerely, xxxx

Well done Athira!

Enrolments & Fees:

Enrolments

-Results are released. The Team is doing a final check of progression outcomes on Monday to pick up all the late results and change of results students, and will be sending out advice on warning, mandatory interview, suspension and exclusion from Tuesday. In addition, now that results are approved and finalised after BOE we are now looking at multiple fails in units and advising students what they have to do.

-The Course Transfer window has closed. 612 applications for transfer are in the system. Students who need or have a strong reason to transfer as a result of academic progression can still apply via RightNow.

-Students who have failed units will have invalid enrolments in 2017; or will be wanting to adjust their enrolment after getting their results. We will therefore be getting requests for waivers and exemption form enrolment rules. Remember to ask students enquiring about enrolment problems if they have pop-ups enabled for Murdoch websites, as the pop-up messages will advise what a problem is and how to proceed.

Fees

-The summer semester has started, and we are looking at outstanding fees for those units with census dates this side of the end of the year. Fees for 2017 will be available online in January.

ESOS

-With the release of results we expect requests for extensions and adjustments to COE and visa periods. In addition, there are processes to be followed up for graduating, and also excluded and suspended students.
