40th High School Reunion
Dear BHS 1971 Classmate –
We have quite a bit of news for our 40th High School Reunion, September 23 and 24th, 2011
We’ve finalized our venues for Friday and Saturday night. Wool Street Grill will host our group on Friday, September 23rd from 7 pm – 1 am. The cost will be $20 per person which includes appetizers and a cash bar. Due to the large response, we decided to change venues for Saturday night, September 24th. Pinstripes at The Arboretum of South Barrington will be the new Saturday night venue from 7 pm – 12 am. The cost will be $45 per person which also includes heavy appetizers, dessert, coffee and non-alcoholic beverages. There will be a cash bar though! Since we have firmed up the cost for the reunion, we are asking that you send a check made payable to Bonnie Barber for our 40th Reunion by August 15th. Bonnie has set up an account for our reunion at Harris Bank. If you can only come on Friday night, the cost would be $20 per person, and if you can only attend on Saturday night, the cost would be $45 per person. If you were planning on attending both events, the cost would be discounted to $60. The registration deadline is August 15th, after which the cost is $25 for Friday only, $50 for Saturday only and $75 for both nights per person. Please make sure you have contacted the hotels where we have blocked rooms; the Hampton Inn in Deer Park, IL and the Holiday InnExpress in Lake Zurich, IL. The cutoff date and description of the amenities are posted on our website.
Mark Heinemann is waiting to hear from you male and female golfers. If you have a foursome, please include the name of everyone in your group. The golf outing is at Cary Country Club on Friday, September 23rd. at 12:30 pm. The cost is $40 per person for green fees and the cart. Jack Putta and Kirk Anderson have graciously volunteered to put our music together for the reunion. They would like to compile a list of “golden oldies” from the years 1967-71 to play at the reunion and is soliciting suggestions from classmates. If you have some favorite songs from our High School years that hold some sentimental value, please let Jack know by posting your request on the official Facebook page OR contact Jack directly at

(Also, since many are available on YouTube, include the link – that way we can all hear them). Then vote for your favorites simply by clicking “Like”. Anne Hartlaub Smith has collected quite a few pictures, but she would like many more for our slideshow presentation. Please pull out your old grade school class pictures, school plays, dance recitals, sporting events, and school dance pictures and put them into a jpeg format and email them to Anne. We’re also planning on putting together an anonymous questionnaire. We would compile a “top ten list” and add it to the slideshow presentation. The questionnaire will be coming out via email and will also be linked to the websitesometime in July.
We have found 70% of our classmates; however, we’re still missing 30%. Lastly, BHSAA, relies on donations to pay for the current Alumni Website ( and the bi-yearly newsletter that is mailed to all those registered on the site. They are asking for a donation to keep the site up and running. If you’d like to contribute, please make a check payable to BHSAA and Bonnie will give it to them.
