Main Purpose of Role

The main purpose of the role is to support Regional Managers to deliver business performance through people and ensure employees enjoy a rewarding and enjoyable relationship with their employer. This will involve;

·  Supporting the identification of requirements and the recruitment, retention and development of regional employees

·  Implementing local recruitment and retention strategies to meet requirements

·  Assisting the RM to meet, overcome and prevent people related business challenges

·  Advising, guiding and supporting regional teams on all HR & Training matters

·  Ensuring company led people policies and procedures are in place and working effectively

·  Ensuring the fair and equitable treatment of all employees

·  Assisting the RM to achieve employee engagement KPI’s

·  Assist with the implementation of new contracts

·  Delivering HR strategy and key HR initiatives in partnership with RM and in consideration of local requirements and priorities

·  Develop and promote a positive and dynamic image and culture to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Tasks

Recruitment and Selection

·  Production and implementation of a local recruitment plan

·  Advertising/commissioning or briefing agencies

·  Organising, interviewing & selecting personnel

·  Maintaining local talent bank

Employee Relationships

·  Support, develop and coach managers to deal with ER issues

·  Ensure people issues are dealt with within the letter and spirit of the law

·  Develop and maintain good working relationships with local union representatives

·  In conjunction with HRD advise managers on any TUPE, restructuring or redundancy situations that may arise.

·  Manage grievance and disciplinary processes ensuring employees are treated with respect and managers are supported to deal with issues effectively and fairly.

Employee Development

·  Co-ordinate IPR process and identify L&D requirements

·  Ensure Personal Development Plans are in place for all employees

·  Implement local development solutions where possible

·  Ensure mandatory training requirements are met

·  Create and maintain local Talent Management Plan

Reward and Recognition

·  Maintain local pay benchmark information and advise on local pay agreements

·  Manage the PRP (Performance Related Pay) process

·  Ensure company led R&R initiatives are bedded in and working effectively

·  Monitor and update HRIS

·  Assist with the achievement of local HR KPI’s

·  Assist with the development and implementation of revised or new HR policies and procedures and HR specific projects

·  Manage regional HR budget

The HRBP will need to strike a balance between being firm and fair in upholding employee best practice whilst supporting and coaching managers to make independent commercial decisions.

The HRBP will be positive, proactive, enthusiastic and passionate about delivering through people. They will have a good generalist background with a desire to work within a commercial business providing services for the public and private sector.

The HRBP will be a confident communicator, challenger and trusted advisor. Unafraid to tackle problems they will have a pragmatic forward thinking approach; their enthusiasm will differentiate them from traditional personnel managers as will their desire to help others succeed.

In addition the HRBP will have the following skills and experience;

·  At least 5 years’ experience as an HR professional with at least 2 years on a consultative/partnering basis

·  Experience of advising managers and senior managers on a range of people matters

·  Experience in a stand-alone multisite role

·  Experience of implementing new initiatives and change programmes

·  Ability to collaborate, persuade and influence

·  Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

·  Ability to work on own initiative and in a developing function

·  An interest in developing HR knowledge and skills

·  A natural inclination to seek and give feedback
