30th Annual Taste of Blue Ash Quickly Approaching, Best of Taste Winners Chosen
.38 Special, Third Eye Blind, and Thompson Square headline musical lineup
Blue Ash, OH (7/28/2015) – The City of Blue Ash will carry on tradition with the 30th annual Taste of Blue Ash, taking place Friday, August 28 through Sunday, August 30 at Summit Park (4335 Glendale-Milford Road). The Taste of Blue Ash is sponsored by WGRR, Kroger, the Ohio Lottery, and Toyota. This is the second year the event will be held at the new Summit Park location.
The event will kick off on Friday the 28th at 6:00 PM and run until 11:00 PM. Hotel California,an Eagles tribute band,will open at 6:30 PM for .38 Special, who will take the Tri-County Mall Stage at 9:00 PM.
On Saturday, August 29th, the event begins at 2:00 PM and featured musical entertainment starts at 6:30 PM with After Midnight, Cincinnati's premier classic rock band, opening for Third Eye Blind who will take the stage at 9:00 PM. The event will run until 11:00 PM.
On its final day, Sunday the 30th, the festival will begin at 2:00 PM and up-and-coming country musician Clayton Anderson will perform on the Main Stage at 5:30 PM. Two-time American Country Music Award winner Thompson Square, the final act at the Taste of Blue Ash, will begin performing at 7:30 PM. The event will conclude at 9:00 PM.
Local music and entertainment will be featured on the Kroger Stage. New this year, a Craft Beer Tent, will also feature local and regional beer and wine and can be found near the Kroger Stage.
Admission into the event is free and tickets are not required. Concert seating is general admission, and the setup of personal chairs or blankets (shade tents and tarps are not permitted) to “reserve” a seating area is necessary. Patrons can begin setting up at 2:00 PM on Friday and 7:00 AM on Saturday and Sunday. Participants setting up chairs must use surrounding parking lots to temporarily park while setting up chairs. Stopping or parking on the surrounding roadways to drop off chairs is not permitted. Chairs and personal items also need to be removed at the final performance each night. Coolers, alcohol, and pets are not permitted. Oversized bags are subject to inspection by Event Staff prior to entrance to the venue or at any time while inside the venue.
Nineteen vendors will be showcased at the event this year: Alfio’s Buon Cibo, Bangkok Terrace, The Bistro @ DoubleTree, Budina Noodle and Rice, Busken Bakery, Café Mediterranean, The Cincinnati Grill, City BBQ, Culvers of Mason, Delicio’s Coal Fired Pizza, El Pueblo, Graeter’s, J. Gumbo’s, Mama Mimi’s, The Melting Pot, Qdoba, Rusty Bucket, Sammy’s Gourmet Burgers, and Vonderhaar’s.
Nine restaurants competed on Monday, July 27 in the annual “Best of Taste” competition at the Cooper Creek Event Center. This year’s winners include:
· Mayor’s Choice Winner- Bacon-Wurst from The Cincinnati Grill
· Mayor’s Choice Honorable Mention- Smoked Beef Brisket Sandwich from Vonderhaar’s
· City Council’s Choice Winner- Apple Cobbler Coffee Cake from Graeter’s
· City Council’s Choice Honorable Mention- Coal Fired Meatball Trio from Delicio’s Coal Fired Pizza
· Best Appetizer (tie) - Coal Fired Meatball Trio from Delicio’s Coal Fired Pizza and Shrimp and Crabcake Ravioli from Alfio’s Buon Cibo
· Honorable Mention Appetizer- Crab Cake from The Bistro @ DoubleTree
· Best Entrée- Grilled Chicken Nachos from Qdoba
· Honorable Mention Entrée- Sweet and Sour Chicken from Budina Noodle and Rice
· Best Dessert- Apple Cobbler Coffee Cake from Graeter’s
· Honorable Mention Dessert- Goat Cheese Brown Sugar Cheese Cake from Alfio’s Buon Cibo
