For the purposes of this survey Darwin is considered ‘regional’.

AUSTRALIAN INTERNATIONAL MUSIC MARKET

Over 100 submissions were received across all genres and from all Australian states and territories to participate in the Australian International Music Market (AIMM) in Brisbane in July this year. The main focus in the selection criteria was the quality of the musicians and music, the uniqueness of their music and the groups export readiness. 11 showcase artists were chosen.

Three groups from the Northern Territory were selected - Nabarlek, Yilila and Drum Drum. "The selection of the 3 Territory groups is a testament to the quality of groups in the region" says Lyndon Terracini, CEO and Artistic Director of AIMM.

AIMM will provide a fantastic opportunity for Nabarlek, Yilila and Drum Drum to tour, network and create partnerships with international and national music industry representatives. "We are committed to providing a welcoming and unique business experience for both the delegates and artists involved in AIMM." Mr Terracini said.

Held in association with the Queensland Music Festival, AIMM provides the opportunity for artists to showcase their talent to over 150 International and Australian music programmers, producers, presenters, festival directors, venue managers, agent and recording companies.
