RWE Transgas Net improvesits transit services across the CzechRepublic
Prague, on 29 July 2008 – Starting from October, RWE Transgas Net, the operator of the gas transmission system, expands its variety of transit products and reduces individual transit fees on the traditional routesby 20%on average. The launch of these new productsis a reaction to competitive transit systems in Germany,Austria and Poland. More attractive transit products are developed in combination with GATRAC (Gas Transport Cooperation),a platform created by RWE Transgas Net and ONTRAS in order to allow for further arbitrage between the CEE market places, mainly Baumgarten, and NW European market places like EGT and BEB/TTF. The new transit products will increase the flexibility, and decrease the transmission costs significantly.
RWE Transgas Net will offer, in addition, a product of capacity shifting. This will allow Shippers to swap their booked capacity from one route to another routeand reduce “ship or pay” costs.
Furthermore, shippers can also book the reverse flow on a given capacity with only a mark-up of 35% for such additional capacity.
“We expect the interest of customers to grow with regard to the change in price conditions of the transit in particular the counterflow products. These prices are going to fall even by as much as 30-40%, depending on the individual route,” said Thomas Kleefuß, Managing Director ofRWE Transgas Net, s.r.o. and added:„We are going to make the access to our system even more attractive by providing new services, which serve additional needs of new and existing customers and will support the development of a European gas market.“
RWE Transgas Net will publish further details on prices and the transit code by the end of August,at the latest, on its website
