Finding Themes: What is your theme in life?

Life themes are made up of keywords that represent your highest values. Each value gives you a starting point for defining the major themes of your life that wind themselves like a thread through the events of your life. Each represents your personal perspective or viewpoint, and thus how you experience the World.

Step 1: Write down your three best themes. *What do you want the world to understand about you? *What do you want to teach the world? Example: Effective communication is essential in relationships.

Step 2: For each theme, ask the question What Makes You Say So? List all the possible evidence from your life that indicates this is your theme. For example: I effectively communication with my husband, son, and daughter. If a problem arises we “talk it out.” It’s important for me to teach my kids how to communicate when they are angry or upset, so I constantly try to model effective communication skills.
