Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
Join the Community Service Club in their first annual HMS Day of Service on Monday, January 19th. Yes, we know that this is a day off from school, a day to lounge in your PJ's, watch TV, and play video games, but don't forget that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?'" Take just a few hours out of your day off to join Americans across the country as we answer this question by serving our neighbors and community.
Take a look at the menu of amazing opportunities, which are available to you. You can find these items listed online and you will also be receiving a brochure in homeroom! Permission slips are required for each event and are due on Wednesday, January 14. Space is limited...don't delay! See Mrs. Gavio in room 194 with any questions.

Winter has officially arrived with our first measurable snowfall. Snow is pretty to look at, but students are reminded that snowballs are not to be thrown while on school grounds.
