2014-2015 School Application

The Regions 6 & 8 Math & Science Teacher Partnershipis looking for school partners to participate in professional learning during the 2014-2015 school year. Up to 20 teachers from Regions 6 & 8 will receive grant support for professional learning: including training, materials, food, and presenter costs. While the MSTP content sessions will be conducted in July 2014 and June 2015, Districts will be eligible for full substitute reimbursement if a substitute is needed for the Lesson Study portion of this professional development.

2014-2015 MSTP Content Session Dates: Tuesday, July 29, 2014; Wednesday, July 30, 2014; and Thursday, July 31, 2014 and June, 2014

The Lesson Study one-day workshop will take place in September or October 2014

Signatures below indicate agreement to comply with the following:

1) Team of Teachers

Our school team will include allstaff teachingmathto students at a grade level(s)PreK-2 in four (4) days of content development and one (1) day ofLesson Study Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).

All teachers will attend five days of content development and participate in PLC’s in between training days to deepen their understanding of concepts as applied in their classrooms.

2) Lesson Study PLC Meetings

Our school will support participating teachers in meeting on a bi-monthly basis between October 31, 2014 and March 30, 2015. These PLC meetings will be supported as a priority for teachers involved in the grant.

4) Financial Match

Our District will provide financial match that includes teacher Lesson Study PLC meeting/planning time; time for completing teacher Lesson Study teaching tasks; all teacher participant travel.

Applications for both Regions 6 & 8 math and science training will be accepted until Wednesday, July 16, 2014 or until 20 participant positions are filled.
