III. Other spring activities

A. Austin Elementary Spring Fling(Community Service Op.

1.Event is March 5th (1st Saturday in March)

2. Sign up if you are interested in helping

3. I will pass along your names and contact numbers

B. Other possible Community Service Ops.

1.  Dedication Garden Maintenance

2.Community or Church Youth Group Service Proj.

3.Youth League Sports Concession, etc.

4.Working with academic tutorials

5.Community “walks/5K” fund raisers

C. Spring Induction (April 14th)

1.  Sign up to deliver invitations to new inductees

on Tuesday, March 1st during second period.

2.  Current members will host reception following ceremony in April. Please remember that

a.  EVERYONE needs to bring 3 dozen cookies

b.  Boys also bring 2 liter sprite

c.  Girls also bring 1 gallon of fruit punch

d.  SIGN UP to help with the ceremony and reception

e.  Bring cookies/drinks week of ceremony

f.  We need parental help with the

reception. Please have them email me if they can help out.

3.  Officers AND additional members will be needed to participate in the ceremony. Officers will contact you at a later date.

4.  Need Volunteers to work on a “What Not To Wear” ppt. Let the officers know if you would like to help with ppt.

PPT. DUE DATE: Monday, March 21th—Monday after Spring Break

IV. Annual Spring Trip to San Antonio RiverCenter Mall IMAX.

A.  For current, active, 8th grade members in “good standing”

B.  Members in “good standing” must meet this criteria:

1.  You may have only 2 unexcused absences

2.  Ten Community Service hours logged in and filed

3.  Five Activity Credits recorded on log sheet and filed

4.  Completed log sheets turned in April 15th

5.  Good academic standing as of 3rd Nine Weeks Grading

Period. Overall grade average must be 90 or above.

March 23 Officers Meet with candidates for induction

April 12 Induction Practice - Tuesday

April 14 Spring Induction – Thursday

April 15 DEADLINE TO TURN IN SERVICE LOGS

May 16 Officer Nominations for 2016-17

May 18 Officer Election for 2016-17
