Organisation overview / Research Autism is the only UK charity exclusively dedicated to research into interventions in autism.
We carry out high quality, independent research into new and existing health, education, social and other interventions. Our goal is the improvement of quality of life and outlook for the individuals affected and those around them.
We have the active support of some of the world's leading figures in autism and in research. We also work with individuals on the autism spectrum, carers, service providers and policy makers to make sure that our research addresses real issues and makes a significant difference to people's lives.
Location / 25 Nutford Place, London W1H 5YQ. Working from home with occasional supervision visits to Research Autism’s office.
Responsible to / Frances Thurgood – Corporate & Events Fundraising Manager
Purpose and summary of the role / This role is to assist the Corporate & Events Fundraising Manager to develop, promote and co-ordinate Conferences, Events and to support fundraising activity.
Description of tasks /
  • Market and promote events
  • Administrate of Events
  • Research and create a pipeline of donors – individuals and corporate
  • Assist in a range of tasks around the co-ordination of Cabaret in the City 2016 – a major fundraising event
  • Undertake other tasks as directed by Corporate & Events

Time Commitment / 2-4 days a week
Skills & Qualifications /
  • Professional and friendly telephone manner
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to keep expenditure and income budgets
  • Good organisational skills
  • Reliable and consistent approach
  • Being able to cope under pressure
  • Previous experience of working in a charity and/or of event management would be a bonus

Training & Support / You will be given induction training into the various aspects of the work. You will receive ongoing support from the Corporate & Events Fundraising Manager. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in other events such as Cabaret in the City and Research Autism Conferences,if desired.
Reimbursement of expenses / Out of pocket expenses associated with role will be reimbursed.
