Class Rules and Expectations
1. Attendance / Punctuality:
» Regular attendance is expected. Students must arrive to class on time and sit in their assigned seat. Do not sit on windowsill or on heater.
» If you are absent, it is your responsibility to get missed work. Check SchoolWires or get missed work from me and turn it in for credit.
» If you are late to class, you must bring a properly signed pass or you will
be marked late.
2. Class Participation:
» Students must come every day fully prepared for class with covered textbook, binder/3 subject notebook, homework and pen/pencil.
» Cell phones and headphones are not permitted in class, if seen, I will take it away and hold it for the duration of class (2 warnings, third time I will take it to the office)
» Passes will not be given to go to locker to get books or homework, plan ahead.
3. Homework Policy:
» Written homework/studying will be assigned every day from Monday to Thursday.
» In order to receive full credit for homework, you must follow all directions and it must be done when due. I do not accept late homework assignments for partial credit.
4. Class work/ Note taking:
» It is very important to take good notes of all new material on the board, Power point presentations, textbook or material presented orally as well as complete all daily class work (do–now, practice exercises, etc.)
» All work done in class and for homework must be labeled with page number, activity number and dates.
» Do-now and class work might be collected (after we go over them) and graded without previous notice.
5. Behavior:
» Respect is very important. Students should raise their hand to ask/answer questions and should listen when others are talking. Yelling out answers is not acceptable.
» Bulling will not be tolerated and will be reported right away. Any students that display disruptive behavior that stop the learning process in the class will be sent to the office for disciplinary action and / or parents will be called.
6. Extra Help:
» Extra help is offered in the Homework Club after school from Monday to Thursday; 2:40 to 3:45. Members of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and other clubs help students with every subject.
» Do not wait till the day before a quiz or test to ask for help. Ask for help as soon as you start having problems with anything.
