Save money on your registered childcare costs, from toddlers to teens.

As your employer we offer a number of employee benefits via the MDU GROUPCARE scheme and, if you have children, childcare vouchers can be a great help towards the costs of any registered childcare.

Did you know you could save up to £933* a year on your registered childcare costs? So, if you spend £450 per month on childcare, that’s the equivalent of over 2 months free childcare per year!

How? The value of the voucher is taken directly from your salary and you don’t pay tax and National Insurance contributions on it!

Can both parents get childcare vouchers?

Childcare vouchers benefit all levels of tax-payer so savings can be made by both working parents; a potential saving of up to £1,866* per family, each year!

Where can I use them?

You can use the vouchers on all types of registered childcare providers which accept childcare vouchers. Visit the MDU website for more information.

How much can I save?

From 6 April 2011 the maximum value of the childcare voucher that can be deducted from your salary each month, and the tax and NI savings you can make, depends on your tax band:

Tax band / Max. monthly childcare voucher value you can have / Max. annual tax and NI savings you can make
Basic rate tax-payer / £243 / £933
Higher rate tax-payer / £124 / £623
Additional rate tax-payer / £110 / £623

To join online please visit call the Customer Service team 8am-8pm, Monday to Friday on 0845 002 1111.

Please have a recent payslip to hand as you will need your National Insurance and payroll number to register. You will also need our employer ID which is [insert your employer ID here].

When will I get my childcare vouchers?

Order by the 1st of the month and yourelected voucher value will be issued as e-vouchers to your online account on or around your pay date.

You don’t have to use your childcare voucher straight away – you can save them up to use when you need them the most.

* Figures quoted are the maximum available savings for Basic rate tax-payers in the 2013/2014 tax year. Higher and Additional rate tax-payers will save less.
