Kansas Federal and State Outlook presented by Fred Lucky
Fred began his career in health care in 1976 as the Assistant Director of Patient Business at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. In 1990, Fred joined KHA as Vice President of Finance. In his current position of Senior Vice President, Fred is involved in all areas of financial issues, including federal and state advocacy.
Lucky’s HFMA experiences began in 1976 when he joined the group and began serving on the Board of Directors at both the state and national level. He was president for two HFMA chapters, the Heart of America Chapter in Kansas City and the Sunflower Chapter of Kansas. Currently, Lucky continues his membership in the Sunflower Chapter of Kansas. He has had many additional positions in HFMA through his years of membership including serving in the officer rotation on the Kansas Board of Directors from 1995 to 2002. During this time, he also was on the National HFMA Board of Directors from 1990-1992. Prior to his Sunflower Chapter roles he was on the Board of Directors and in the officer rotation of the Heart of America Chapter (Missouri) from 1981 to 1985. Other roles that Lucky has served within HFMA include: Chapter Liaison Representative, HFMA Region 8; Board of Examiners, National HFMA; and National Nominating Committee.
Missouri Federal and State Outlook presented by Daniel Landon
Daniel Landon is Senior Vice President of Governmental Relations for the Missouri Hospital Association (MHA). He joined MHA in August 1993. His responsibilities include managing the association’s federal and state advocacy functions and performance measure programs.
Prior to joining MHA, Mr. Landon worked for the House Research staff of the Missouri House of Representatives for nearly ten years. The House Research staff provides nonpartisan research, policy analysis, and bill drafting services to the House of Representatives, its committees, and individual legislators.
