Location: Montgomery Academy Upper Campus

Executive Board Meeting

Members Present: Larry Gibson, Tammie Clark, Connie Deal, Betsy Logan, Phyllis Horn, Betsy Logan (parlimentarian), Susie Davis, and Angela Patrick.

Preview of the new AAEA Constitition

Betsy used old constitution and NAEA’s to update terminology. Exec board needs to look over and make notes before retreat. Email any additions or corrections to Betsy by January 31. To be presented at general assembly. Policy does not go into this document. We do not need to send every little change to the members, just the final changed document.

Tax Exempt Status; continuing to work on it.

Connie concerned about the budget.

Did the 2011 conference make or lose money?

Ideas to make money: Artists co-op on an Etsey account; profits to go to AAEA. Silent auction at conference. Time to tighten our purse strings. Check with Becky Guinn about how much she needs for Hooked on Art, can she do with less.

Who will go to NAEA conference on AAEA’s dime? President or President elect? Need a policy change. Line item in budget that says. Delegates Assembly instead of President Elect (NAEA delgate assembly). President Elect should be able to go to National Conference as President-Elect one year and President, the next.

Proposed budget changes:

Past-President changed from $2,000 to $500

President changed from $4,000 to $2,000

Line item changed as well, from President (NAEA Convention) to President

President Elect (NAEA delegate assembly) line item changed to President Elect;

amount still $2,000.

Line item added for NAEA delegate assembly representative, $2,000

Newsletter changed from $2000 to $2500

Conference Seed Money from $0 to $500

Betsy proposed we ammend the proposed budget as seen abovefor the full board’s approval, Connie seconded, the executive board passed the motion.

Do not have to have a full board retreat every year. Use Board retreat funds for 2012 SE Leadership Conference instead.
