About the Foundation for These Abled Persons Inc. (FTI)
The Foundation for These Abled Persons Inc. (FTI) is a non stock, non profit organization established in 2009 by the Federation of Cooperatives of Persons with Disabilities (NFCPWD) in order to help the federation in marketing the products such as the school chairs and desk and do resource generation for the said business towards generating more employment to people with disabilities. Over the years, FTI has been assisting not only the federation but also other cooperatives and organizations of people with disabilities spe. It has been instrumental in organizing the Equal Access Travel and tours cooperative, the Cagayan De Oro Producers Cooperative , Cateel Producers Cooperative and just recently the Leyte Persons with Disabilities Producers Cooperative in line with the effects of typhoon Yolanda.
FTI has been assisting persons with disabilities and other vulnerable sectors to recover after typhoon SENDONG (December 2011) in Cagayan de Oro, Typhoon Pablo (December 2012) in Cateel, Davao Oriental and the recent Typhoon Yolanda (2013). One of the major activities being done by FTI in the rebuilding effort is construction of houses using precast (prefabricated modular houses)
Alongside various activities, FTI continues to find market and support for the production of school chairs and desk so that people with disabilities will have jobs and emplyment
