- Total number of sharks sighted
●The sex of each shark (if not identified use ‘unknown’). To differentiate a male from a female you must look underneath the shark at the pelvic fins. Males have claspers extending from the pelvic fins (see diagram), females don’t.
●Length of each shark (measure up against another diver)
●Temperature of the Water at the bottom (digital gauge only)
●Behaviour (note anything that was unique or interesting that your or other divers may have noticed)
●Pregnant (if you think a shark is pregnant (not just fat) note this.
●Mating Scars (Pls note presence of mating scars and whether they are new (still raw looking) partly healed (obvious but white rather than ‘raw’)m, completely healed e.g. dark raised bump.
●Special markings (scares, damaged fins, please note where it is on the shark)
●Fishing Tackle attachments (hooks ropes etc. please note where it is on the shark and describe the tackle (e.g. no. hooks, sinkers, bait present etc.)
●Visibility (of water in vicinity of sharks)
●Number of Divers (from your dive boat and all on the site)
●ID Tags (colour and number, if any obvious has been caused as a result of tag and if it is still current or a healed scar).

DO NOT OMIT REPORTING THE DIVE DUE TO THE ABSENCE OF SHARKS, PLEASE REPORT ZERO SHARKS AT THAT SITE. The fact that there were no sharks on a dive is just as important as if there were sharks on the dive.
