Permission Slip for National Mall Field Trip
Dear Parents and Guardians,
“How is the truth viewed from different perspectives?” This is the guiding question that the 7th grade students will be exploring as part of a Middle Years Programme (MYP) interdisciplinary collaboration between Science, World Studies, and English. The students will gather information to support their understanding of the guiding question by visiting museums at the Smithsonian on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014. We will travel to the Smithsonian on charter buses and visit selected exhibits. Students will experience exhibits connected to curricular units on genetics, the Holocaust, and World War II. The students will need to either bring a bag lunch from home or purchase a bag lunch from the school’s cafeteria. If weather permits, the students will be eating picnic style on the Mall.

FIELD TRIP REMINDERS:
Bring a bag lunch from home or purchase one in advance from the cafeteria.
Wear comfortable walking shoes
Wear clothes appropriate for the weather
(this includes bringing an umbrella or wearing a poncho if it is raining!)
Leave all electronic devices at home (school rules about electronic devices, such as iPods, mp3 players, etc. will be enforced)
Behavioral expectations apply on field trips.
