ROLE PURPOSE:
As part of Save the Children’s global 2016-2018 strategic plan, creating a high performing organization is one of nine priorities. As part of this priority, Save the Children is delivering several HPO projects across functions (COOM, AMCP, ER/CAM, PPM/ PRIME etc.), that will impact all COs. The HPO work stream aims to improve the basics within COs, improving KPI performance and bringing about organisational changes in operational efficiency and effectiveness in the long-term. However, the organisation is facing an ongoing challenge where COs are often struggling to meet some project pre-requisites and deliver on KPI targets.
The Sustainable Delivery Initiative (SDI) has been created in May 2017 in order to diagnose the issues that are leading to underperformance and lack of agility when delivering on KPIs and on the HPO project pre-requisites. In collaboration with the Boston Consulting group (BCG), this Initiative has been using BCG’s “Smart Simplicity Methodology”.
Since its inception, The Sustainable Delivery Initiative has identified the root causes of problems and designed/deployed specific interventions (e.g. changes to accountability measures, processes, incentives, structures) to improve consistent delivery of result. The emphasis of the initiative is bringing about cultural change through applying BCG’s methodology to assess what the current culture is in an organisation – and why it exists. The Initiative’s team is working with ROs and COs to develop a practical, well-sequenced plan to either reinforce or change current behaviours.
The initiative is currently in its rollout phase across SCI’s footprint.
This role will manage the delivery for the project, alongside a Project Manager, and under the responsibility of the Project Lead. The SDI Team also include two consultants.
