Checklist for Having Overseas Study Programs Approved

If you are intending to promote overseas study to students either as:

§  a subject with an overseas component;

§  as an excursion overseas which can result in students being awarded credit; or

§  as an excursion overseas which does earn any credit

you must consider the following points and act on them as requested below, where appropriate, before seeking approval from the Dean.

1.  Have you established how the students will be enrolled and the credit that will be awarded for the study?
You must confirm with the Student Centre Manager in what subject(s) the students will be enrolled while away and what amount of credit will be awarded as a result of successfully completing their overseas study.

2.  Have you consulted with Melbourne Global Mobility (MGM)?
You must consult with MGM and attach an email confirming that they are aware of your planned program and what implications, if any, there are for student exchange agreements the University has with overseas institutions.

Students need to be prepared before they depart for study overseas as required by the University’s Student Mobility Policy. Please attach a description of what measures you have taken to achieve this. Alternatively please contact MGM to seek assistance.
