FALL LEAGUE

Open to all boys in grades 3rd - 8th

When:Sunday evenings beginning Sept.6th

• 8 week program: 2 practices and 6 games all on Sunday evenings

• No weekday practices so it should not conflict with youth football or soccer

Where: Brunswick High School East and West Gyms

Cost:$65 includes t-shirt, two practices, skill sessions prior to each game, plus six games

Practice: There will be two practices prior to the start of the season to go over various fundamentals as well as offensive and defensive principles.

FALL LEAGUE RULES

- Teams will have a brief skill session prior to each of their six games.

-Teams will play two 18 minute halves/running clock. Clock will be kept on the floor for the last minute of the 2nd half.

-We will keep score but coaches have the right to remove the score if one team is up by a wide margin.

-There will be no more than ten players per team to ensure adequate playing time.

-Games will be officiated by high school players and coaches. We will not keep track of individual or team fouls. We will make sure each player understands why a violation was called on them, even if that means stopping the game. We will not call everything but we also want the players to understand the difference between right and wrong.

-We will move the free throw line in for 3rd and 4th graders.

-There will be no zone defense played. Players will be taught man to man principles only.

-No pressing! Defenses must pick up their men at half court.

-No double teaming or trapping.

-Unselfish play and sportsmanship will be stressed. Coaches have the right to remove any player for poor sportsmanship at any time.

-Teams are coached mainly by our high school, middle school, and travel coaches as well as a few of our qualified players. If you would like to coach a team and have experience, contact Coach Mackey.
