The Broadway Association to receive Lifetime Achievement Award at 2017 Hotel Excellence Awards
September 16, 2016 (New York, NY): The Broadway Association has been chosen to be the 2016 Lifetime Achievement recipient at the next Hotel Excellence Awards. Dennis Swanson, Chairman of The Broadway Association, will be on hand to accept the award at the event, held January 30, 2017, at the iconic Cipriani Wall Street.
This honor is awarded to an individual or association that demonstrates exceptional achievement in their field, in addition to superior contributions to New York City’s hospitality industry. Fred Cerullo from Grand Central Partnership received this prestigious award in January 2016 and prior recipients include Ray Kelly, Whoopi Goldberg and Jonathan Tisch, among others.
The Broadway Association’s members—including hotels, restaurants, theater companies and banks—accommodate the countless travelers visiting the city’s Broadway Theater District each year. Chairman Emeritus Dennis Swanson, Chairman Cristyne L. Nicholas and the entire organization’s tireless efforts to better Midtown West is what makes The Broadway Association an outstanding choice for this prestigious award, as it exemplifies excellence in making New York City a welcoming environment for its residents and visitors.
"The Broadway Association is honored to accept the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2016 Hotel Excellence Awards. Founded in 1911, the Broadway Association has been bringing the Midtown West business community together for almost 106 years, which is longer than most lifetimes," said Cristyne Nicholas, Chair of the Broadway Association. "We look forward to continuing to work with the hotel and hospitality community—along with our partners in business, tourism, and government—to promote the betterment of the Broadway Theater district.”
“The Broadway Association continues to help make the Broadway Theater District one of the biggest draws for travelers to New York City,” said Adeline Tafuri Jurecka, Publisher of Where®IN New York. “As a travel brand, we can’t think of a better organization to honor this year because of how much The Broadway Association positively impacts visitors as much as it impacts the city itself.”
The Hotel Excellence Awards (HEA) is hosted by Where® IN New York, a division of Morris Media Network, a multi-media publishing company—in cooperation with the New York Association of Hotel Concierges® (NYCAHC) and the Hotel Association of New York City, Inc. (HANYC)
The HEA program recognizes the qualities and characteristics that exhibit superior service and achievement in New York City’s hospitality industry. The program is comprised of the Hotel Experience Awards, selected by the readers of Where® New York and IN New York magazines; and the Silver Plume Awards, which honor exemplary customer service demonstrated by Concierges and their Managers and are selected by New York City Association of Hotel Concierges’ members.
