ST. ALOYSIUS’ NEWSASH WEDNESDAY
Ash Wednesday services will be held on Wednesday, March 5. One service will be held at 4 p.m. at our St. Aloysius Parish Centre (8402 de Marseille) and a second service at 7:30 p.m. at St. Brendan’s Parish (3542 Rosemont Blvd.) A reminder that Ash Wednesday is a day of fasting and abstinence.
LENT
In less one week, we will be entering into the holy season of Lent. Lent is a time the Church gives us to reflect on our relationship with Jesus and to help us deepen that relationship. Perhaps between now and the beginning of Lent, we can reflect on what we’d like to do to help deepen this relationship with Our Lord. Lent is a time – not for us to give up something, but for us to do something that will help deepen our relationship with Jesus. Here are some other suggestions you can do for Lent: visit an elderly person; do something kind for someone who would never expect it; spend 10 minutes reading the Bible; offer your day for someone who has fallen away from the faith; say a prayer for someone who is sick; send a thank you note to someone to whom you owe a debt of gratitude. These are but a few suggestions to help guide you during your Lenten journey.
