Here is a brief overview of the work performed by the Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office personnel during the 2013 calendar year.
Administration
Below is a summary of grants and funding obtained by the Sheriff’s Office for 2013:
Grants

Road Division/Detective Division
¨ 1,297 report numbers pulled. (Increase of 30% from 2012)
¨ 497 arrests (Increase of 32% from 2012)
¨ During 2013, our personnel responded to incidents resulting in charges for 1st degree assault, armed criminal action, domestic violence (1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree), rape, child abuse, sexual assault, arson, knowingly burning, animal abuse, property damage, peace disturbance, theft, fraud, trespassing, burglary, robbery. Deputies also conducted self-initiated enforcement of traffic laws.
¨ During 2013, the Sheriff's Office served several search warrants and made numerous drug related arrest. Some of these cases were self-initiated by the deputy and some were the a result of months of work which culminated in search warrants resulting in numerous arrests for manufacture and/or distribution of methamphetamine, manufacture and/or distribution of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and/or marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of precursors with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and many other misdemeanor charges.
¨ During 2013, in addition to these calls, deputies were recalled for severe weather events, transported prisoners from other facilities across the state to our facility for warrants, transported prisoners to hospitals for medical treatment, transported subjects to and from facilities for court ordered mental health evaluations, kept the peace at many residences, responded to motor vehicle accidents to assist the Missouri State Highway Patrol, assisted EMS with medical calls, assisted fire departments across the county when requested, and did public education presentations at various community groups.
¨ In addition to these duties, the Sheriff's Office served numerous civil process papers, summons, garnishments, subpoenas, writs, other civil process papers, and provided extra security for court during jury trials as required by Revised Missouri Statutes.
Jail Division
¨ Average daily inmate housing of 25 inmates (Increase of 52% from 2012)
¨ 25 inmates transported to Missouri Department of Corrections following sentencing
¨ Provided security for the Associate and Circuit Courts
Communications Division*
¨ Answered approximately 35,000 phone calls (including emergency and non-emergency calls)
¨ Assisted approximately 8,100 citizens at the front desk
¨ Dispatched for 925 EMS calls
¨ Dispatched for 367 Fire Department related calls
In addition to answering phones and handling walk-in traffic, dispatchers, dispatch for Sheriff’s Office deputies, the Marble Hill Police Department, Bollinger County EMS and six fire districts. Based on yearly averages, the fire departments averaged 1 call per day and EMS averaged 2.5 calls per day. Dispatchers are responsible also for entering and auditing warrants, running information for deputies and officers, and acting as jailers in the absence of the jail administrator.
