Review and expiry of Core Construction unit standards
Subfield / Domain / IDConstruction Trades / Core Construction / 26480-26484
The Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation (BCITO) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date expiring versions published February 2012
Summary
These standards are Australian units competency developed by the Construction and Property Services Industry Skills Council (the Australian skills development agency for the Construction and Property Services Industries) and were previously administered by the Creative Trades ITO. The responsibility for the standards transferred to the BCITO in February 2011. As part of the transfer of responsibility BCITO undertook a review which found that the standards have never been awarded in New Zealand, there were no organisations with explicit consents to assess for these standards, and they were not listed as part of any qualification. The review also concluded the competencies within them were covered by other unit standards; therefore they are surplus to requirements and will expire.
Main changes
· Responsibility for the standards was transferred to the BCITO.
· The standards will expire and will not be replaced.
Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December2012.
Impact on Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR)
The standards have been transferred from CMR 0066 and will be listed on 0048 until they expire at the end of December 2012. CMR 0066 has expired and is no longer available on the NZQA website.
