EXCITING “GRANT” NEWS FOR ASHLEY

  • Ashley’sMediaCenter just received a $3,219.75 grant from the Black Philanthropy Initiative of the Winston-Salem Foundation for playaways and books to accompany the playaways.
  • Ashley Elementary just received a $500 grant from Exxon Mobile to be used towards Science/ Math- The monies are intended to be used towards our Greenhouse project for the Spring.

SPELLING BEE WINNERS AT ASHLEY

Ashley students did very well in the Ashley 2011-2012 Spelling Bee. We are very proud of all of our students who participated in the Spelling Bee. STUDENT COUNCIL

Student Council raised $400 dollars on the $50 gift card raffle. 20% of that is being donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank.

  • Congratulations to J. Cherry who won the gift card!

MEDIA CENTER NEWS

Lauren Kent is continuing to work with Ashley on her Girl Scout Gold Award. She has completed the art work on the media center. She has collected over 700 books for our school. We thank her and her family for all they have done and will continue to do for us at Ashley. If anyone is interested in helping to process these books to get them ready for the shelves, please contact Mrs. Crotts in the media center.

Our fourth graders continue to work on the WFU Literacy Program. All reading must be completed by December 9.

Ashley Parents, Teachers, and PTA Members:

A reminder that the The WSFCS Council of PTAs will be coming to Ashley Elementary School to do a PTA Procedure Training on Saturday, December 3rd from Noon to 2pm.
