DRIVE NOW. TEXT L8R.| PSA Guidelines
What are we creating?
A 29-second public service announcement (PSA) that discourages texting and driving. If you’re not familiar with what a PSA should look like, check out last year’swinning DRIVE NOW. TEXT L8R. PSA by visiting bluegrasscellular.com/mobilesafety and clicking on the “Drive Now. Text L8R PSA Contest” link. You can also watch examples from the National Ad Council at psacentral.org.
Why are we communicating?
Over the past several years, there has been a significant nationwide effort to raise awareness of the dangers of texting and driving. Teens have been presented with facts, figures and advertising campaigns from a multitude of sources. And while the message appears to be slowly sinking in, there’s still a lot of work to be done.
Because of this, we’re looking to you to help us put an end to texting and driving. Help us reach your friends, family and neighbors as we encourage our community to drive now and text later.
Who are we talking to?
Your PSA can target anyone you feel is a potential texting-while-driving offender. This includes teens, adults or even soon-to-be drivers.
What are the judges looking for?
A creative, compelling video that delivers the DRIVE NOW. TEXT L8R. message in a unique way. Most people have seen an anti-texting-and-driving commercial, so how will yours be different? How will yours break through the clutter?
