Bloom’s Ball Book Club Project
Your group will create a “Bloom’s Ball” to show your knowledge of your Book Club selection. As a group, you all will create 12 tiles listed below. These tiles will then be put together to create a Blooms Ball! Read through the explanations below and write the person’s name on the line that will be responsible for creating that tile. Be sure to split up the work evenly! Please have your teacher approve this sheet BEFORE starting your work.

2 / Write a short paragraph telling whether or not you would recommend this story to other students. Who would you recommend it to? Why? Must be between 3-5 sentences.
3 / Tell the conflict ( ______vs______) AND type of conflict (internal/external). Include an illustration.
4 / Tell who the main character would be friends with from another story (text-to-text connection) and why. Have an illustration to go along!
5 / Apply your knowledge of theme to create a bumper sticker illustrating the author’s message of the story.
6 / Draw the climax or turning point in the story. Give a caption to explain.
7 / At the top of the tile, write a trait for the character at the BEGINNING of the book. Illustrate a scene from the book in which the character shows this trait.
8 / At the top of the tile, write a trait for the character at the RESOLUTION of the book. Illustrate a scene from the book in which the character shows this trait.
9 / Write a haiku about the story (3 lines, 5-7-5 syllables, not rhyming). Have an illustration to go along!
10 / Write a limerick about the story. (5 lines, AABBA rhyme scheme).
11 / Create a “trait recipe” for the main character. See example on the back of this page.
12 / Create a timeline of major events in sequential order. Include at least 5 events.
