When i connect it to my computer and run the Music Data Management Software 2.0 and i want to upload my registration memory to the computer and then download it again to my Casio something goes wrong.
I tried one..to make sure it worked, and I had a good result. A part you need to watch...are you watching the 'bank' you are accessing, when loading from the Casio memory to the reg. section. Press the bank button to see which bank you are accessing. Remember....each setting is a seperate file. you need to 'choose' the location you are sending the file to (when using the Casio software).
An example: you save your reg. to the computer (in a registration folder you create to hold your files).
Then, to reload to the Casio...Highlite the file on your computer (using the Casio software). Also highlite the memory slot on the Casio, where you want to place your file. slot 1.1 is the first bank...button 1. Slot 1.2 is the first bank button 2...and so on. Hope this helps.

a DVD entitled 'Understanding your Casio WK300/3500 Keyboard'.
I have looked through the DVD once and I am sure I will return to it in the future for reference. It seems so much easier to see the manual explained and demonstrated to you on the screen. I understand it is available on Video as well.
It was purchased in the UK through a company called Technote.

Basically ..the Casio Data management software is a 4 part program. There are 3 boxes in the upper left display (under the file pull down)
1. The first box accesses the 'parameter editor' a way to tweak sounds and effects 'live' to the Casio (using midi cables)
2.The second box is where the 'action is' as far as the conversion process is concerned. This is where you convert midis to rhythms, take existing rhythms. turn them into midis.. tweak them, and re-convert them.
3.The 3rd part is the wave tone editor...where you build a user 'tone with wave' from wave files.
4. The main screen (that comes up when you start the program...using the display screen of 1024 x 768...at least)..has a left side (your computer folder...selected under 'file/preference/directory)...and a right side (the Casio, SmartMedia, or disk). Use the 'file type' window ..to choose the type of file to select from. Highlight the left side file you want to load...and if you load directly to the Casio...the Casio memory slot you are loading to. Midi files don't have memory assignments...they are just loaded in and will display it the order they are loaded.

Accompaniment not showing up in sequencer
When I play the upper part – it shows up in my sequencer. But when I split my Casio keyboard – the lower part (drums, strings, whatever) – nothing, as if they are not played. I’m using Cakewalk Sonar 3.1, Casio WK 3500. I should probably do some setting with channels, but I’ve got no idea what.
I'm not sure if you really mean 'split'...or are referring to the rhythm accompaniment (left hand playing of the built in Casio rhythms).
For the recording of the Casio Rhythms...you need to 'port' that data to the midi cable (turn it on). Here is how.
1. Press the 'transpose' button...display shows '00 Trans.'
2. Use the 'down cursor' to the '00 Keybd Ch' (the '00' is the current output channel) . This shows the current 'right hand' channel...it is changed by the 'yes/no' buttons to select a channel..1 thru 16.
3.You want to 'right cursor' 2 times ..to the ' (on/off) Ac/ SgOut' display. Using the 'yes/no' buttons on the number pad...select 'yes' to enable the rhythm parts to be transmitted over the midi cable.
4. Your computer may put all of the channels on one sequencer 'track'. But, they will still have seperate channel assignments. In my sequencer, there is a 'expand channels to tracks' ...that will seperate channel 2 to track 2, channel 3 to track 3....and so on. This doesn't change the way it will sound....it just makes it easier to work with. Like haveing all the bass on one track, piano on the next, and so on. Remember the 'track' is just a place to store channel data (midi information).
After all that... if you are talking about using the keyboard split (left hand...instrument1, right hand instrument 2). The left hand is channel 3, and the right hand is channel 1. You want to make sure that your sequencer program is set to recieve multipule channels at one time (usually found in the options drop down)

The Casio Data Management software manual explains how to make 'tone with wave' (sound samples), and how to make rhythms from midi files. The manual is a seperate download. Here is the link:
