City Travel Brochure

You are the Minister of Tourism for your city. You want people to come to your city in order to receive the almighty tourist dollar. It is your job to design a brochure to entice visitors to visit your city. You must select a city that begins with the First letter of your First or Last name. Your city must not be in Canada.

Collecting Resources

Make a folder in My Documents called Travel Brochure. While you are researching, save the images you want to use into this folder. Create a Word Document called Resources. Bookmarks don’t seem to stay on our computers, so make a list of websites in this file. You will need your resource list for your final product. Wikipedia is not a valid resource.

Once you have accumulated all of the information, you are to assemble text and pictures in a travel brochure format. The writing in your brochure must be in your own words. (Not directly copied & pasted)

Requirements

Make your city seem like a cool and fun place to visit. Include the following information about your city & country:

City Information

  • Sight Seeing Tour
    5+ Significant points of interest
    Include a Photo and Description (minimum 4 sentences) of each
    Show the POI locations on the city map
    How much does admission cost?
    What are the hours of operation?
  • Accommodations
    Find some nice hotels / hostels / B&Bs etc.
    How much does one night cost?
  • Food & Drink
    Restaurants / Food Trucks / Café’s etc.
    What is a special item on each restaurant’s menu?
    How much does food/drink cost?
  • Arrival Locations
    Airports / Train Stations / Bus Stations etc.
    (Minimum 3)
  • Public Transit information
    Can you get a day-pass?
    How much does one trip / day pass cost?
  • Local Sports Teams
    Which leagues do they play in?
  • Post-Secondary Education
  • Population
    Proper city, Metro area, Country
    What year is this data from?
