All trainers explanations for late rider declarations were accepted.

Boris Thornton was reprimanded pursuant to AR.120.(b) when he was unable to make the weight on Hoffsetter. In determining penalty stewards took into account Mr Thornton’s record regarding this rule.

RACE 1 – INCITEC PIVOT COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES MAIDEN PLATE – 1400 METRES

Poachers Son Jumped awkwardly then shifted out and contacted Gee Gees Tell All. Steadied off the heel of Gee Gees Tell All near 1200 metres.

Saints QuestRaced wide throughout.

Coin TossSlow into stride(1L). Held up from the 150 metres.

Tranter Slow into stride 1L.

RACE 2 – T A BRICKNELL FILLIES AND MARES MAIDEN PLATE – 1400 METRES

Livia’s Lite Failed to muster early speed. Carried wider on the track near the 500 metres. Laid in over the concluding stages.

TymoshenkoTightened and steadied off heels near the 600 metres.Jockey Bulent Muhcu was advised to ensure he has sufficient room when attempting to take runs.

Gee Gees Talkfest Tightened near the 1000 metres.

Pop A Lefty Shifted in near the 600 metres and tightened TymoshenkoApprenticeBoris Thornton was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground. Held up rounding the home turn and the majority of the home straight.

Sh’bourneDylaca Shifted in and tightened Deciding Clause and Gee Gees Talkfest near the 100 metres . Apprentice Victor Wong was reprimanded under AR 137(a) for careless riding.

RACE 3 – QUEENS ARMS HOTEL BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP – 1400 METRES

Immortal FireUnderwent a pre-race veterinary examination and passed fit to compete. Tightened near the 300 metres and lost its poition.

Reanns DiamondRaced wide throughout.

Finalargee Slow to begin and then over-raced in the early stages Laid out for the majority of the race. Laid out near the 300metres and had to steady off the heels of Auntie Beverley

Krake Shifted in and tightened Savvy Princess in onto Immortal Fire near the 300 metres Apprentice Mehmet Ulucinarwas severely reprimanded under AR 137(a) for careless riding.

Auntie Beverley Shifted in near the 300 metres as Finalargee hung out Jockey Kim Moore was advised to exercise care when shifting ground.

RACE 4 – SUES OF INVERMAY MAIDEN/CLASS 1 PLATE – 1800 METRES

Big Pegg , David Pires was reprimanded under the provisions of AR.137A.(5)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip 8 times prior to the 100 metres.

RACE 5 – TASMANIAN LIVESTOCK SERVICES BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP – 1800 METRES

Our Anna Jumped awkwardly

Moonless Raced three wide throughout.

RACE 6 – CRESSY CHAFF CUTTERS JIM OSBOURNE LONGFORD CUP – 1800 METRES

Correct weight was delayed when the riders and connections of Up Cups (D Pires),Aventador (S Carr), and Lingo (V Wong) all wished to view the official films. After doing so they were satisfied and correct weight was declared.

Fund TraderMomentarily tightened for room near the 100 metres

LingoShifted out near the 100 metres when not fully clear of Fund Trader which was momentarily tightened. Apprentice Victor Wong was reprimanded under AR.137.(a) for careless riding.tightened and checked approaching the finish.

AventadorTightened and unbalancedapproaching the finish. Apprentice Sigrid Carr pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR.137A.(5)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip 8 times prior to the 100 metres. Apprentice Carr was subsequently fined the sum of $100.

Up Cups Laid in near the finish and bumped with Aventador.

Miss It And A Bit Apprentice Sherry Bar pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR 137(a) for careless riding in that she allowed her mount to shift out near the winning post tighteneing and checking Lingo out onto Aventador which was also tightened and became unbalanced between that gelding and Up Cups. Apprentice Barr’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 2 race dates commencing midnight 6.1.16 until midnight 13.1.16.

GENERAL

Trainer C Conron pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of LR 15.17 in that he allowed an unlicenced person to lead a horse from the float parking facility. After taking submissions on penalty and taking into account Mr Coron’sgood record under this rule Mr Conron was fined the sum of $200 wholly suspended for 12 months on the proviso he does not reoffend under this rule.

Trainer C Conron was stood down from horse handling duties today from race 5 under the provisions of AR.81.AA.2 after a submitting a breath analysis in excess of .05 % Blood Alcohol Content. An inquiry has been adjourned to a date to be fixed.
