Please respond to the question below in 15 sentences or more. Please see the grade rubric, syllabus, and discussion/writing tips section of the course for writing and requirement guidelines. This assignment is worth an maximum of 100 points.
The Mona Lisa was painted by Italian artist Leonardo DaVinci. The artist had a woman model for this painting. One of the things many people think about when viewing this painting is: What is the model thinking? What is her expression? So, take a look at the photo of the painting of the Mona Lisa located above or click on the following link. If you cannot click on it, then cut and paste url.
Take a moment to study her face. What do you think she is thinking? Tell me about the expression on her face.
After you describe the expression on her face and what she is thinking consider the following: Are your thoughts fact? If they are a fact...what evidence are you basing this on? or Are you making an assumption? If it is based on assumption, what are you basing your assumption on?
Finally, how did you go about determining what the model was thinking? What method in your mind did you use to determine what the model is thinking as well as a deciding what her mood depicts. Did you use cause and effect? Did you use a descriptive method such as naturalistic observation or survey? Did your use the correlational method for determining your opinion? and of course explain "why" you chose this method. If you used assumption, what are the limitations of assuming/inferring about someone or something. What are the limitations that a researcher in psychology may experience by use of assumption/inference? and Why is assumption/inference also necessary in the field of psychology?
