Event Coordinator Internship Job Description

ResponsibilitiesSpecific Duties
· Plan, implement, and evaluate 2 programs and/or workshops each semester.
· Produce and assist with center events.
· Work with the PRIDE Center’s staff to market events, campaigns, news, and messaging.
· Assist with brainstorming events, campaigns, news, and messaging.
· Assist with brainstorming strategies for promoting events, campaigns, news and messaging.
· Attend weekly staff meetings.
· Attend bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with supervisor.
General PRIDE Center Duties
· Informs campus and community constituents of the center’s resources and services.
· Create a welcoming environment and safe space for all visitors of the PRIDE Center.
· Maintains contact and other information on campus and community resources.
· Maintain hours in the PRIDE Center to welcome and help visitors to the PRIDE Center.
· Work with the Graphic Design Intern to create promotional materials
· Work with the Social Networking and Community Relations Interns to promote events and campaigns.(e.g. flyers, posters, press releases, Facebook and website)
· Maintain the library, resource areas and bulletin boards.
Qualifications· Must be a student in good academic standing at least a 2.5 G.P.A.
· Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends throughout the academic year.
· Must display strong written and oral interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work and dialog on social justice issues within a multiple-identity/cross-cultural setting.
· Ability to understand and articulate issues of multiculturalism, cross cultural communication, racism, sexism, heterosexism, gender identity, classism, ableism, etc.
· Have awareness and knowledge on issues and concerns affecting underrepresented communities and willingness to learn more.
· Must be able to maintain duties by working independently and in a team setting.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Social Networking Applications.
· Strong ability to manage time and multiple tasks at once.
· Participate, represent and/or present/speak at PRIDE Center functions.
Hours and PayHours: 10-15/wk, 40-60/mo
Schedule: Hours are to be worked during Monday-Thursday 10am–7pm
and/or Fridays 10am-4pm
Pay Rate: $10.30/hr
Payroll Cycle: Monthly on the 15th
