DIVINE SAVIOR CATHOLIC SCHOOLDIVINE DISPATCH

October 16, 2017

The Mission of Divine Savior Catholic School is to provide an environment for children to excel personally, academically and spiritually. Together we share in the mission of Divine Savior Parish to foster a faith filled community where Catholic values are learned through prayer, service and love. Our goal is to use these values to develop lifelong learners and compassionate leaders.

From the Desk of the Principal:

Parent Teacher Conferences will be taking place at DSCS this week, and I know that the entire staff is looking forward to setting aside time to visit. It is such a wonderful time to meet with our parents and to work together as a team to help all of our students grow academically and spiritually.

This Friday, we will have a Catholic Schools Walk KIck-Off to get ready for the walk on Saturday. Our DSCS Walk Team will be meeting at school on Saturday morning to take a bus to Mount Mary University. It should be a wonderful day to celebrate all the blessings of a Catholic School Education! Yours in Faith, Lynn Sauer

DINNER AUCTION NEWS

Thank you to all family/ friends and community and parish members that supported our DSCS 2017 Dinner Auction by donating, buying raffle tickets and attending. It was a fun night and we will have numbers soon to show our success. We appreciate all your support and generosity!

It’s hard to believe that after months of planning, the 2017 Dinner Auction is over.A HUGE thank you to all the committee chairs who helped organize and coordinate the event and to all the families who worked eitherSaturdaynight or the weeks leading up to theevent! The “official results” will be coming soon! It was a lot of fun and I hope all of the staff, the new families and the “vets” enjoyed themselves!! It takes everyone coming together to help make it a success for the school!

The date for the 2018 auction has already been set (based on other events in the surrounding communities as to not overlap) and it will be Saturday, October 13th, 2018. I have a prior commitment that day, so will sadly have to miss this really fun night. As the lead chairperson for the last couple years,I am looking for a volunteer or 2 who would like to take the lead on this event.Last year, this one fundraiser accounted for 70% of the amount we owed to the Parish for our fundraising commitments! Imagine if we’d have to skip a year – how many extra fundraising events we would have to do to make up for this amount. As the lead chairperson, you work with the Dinner Auction committee on deadlines, meetings, and keeping things moving in a timely manner leading up to the event. If you are good at communicating and delegating, then I encourage you to come forward and help out!

Also, if you saw an area that you would like to help with next year, please let us know! Some people were already askingon Saturdaynight if they could “help out in a certain area next year”(Sub-committees:set up/clean up, donations, bar, games, classroom projects, invites, lead, big raffle, advertising book/ program) , so I thought now is a good time to save your spot. Pleaseemail me and let me know what area you’d like to be in. The official sign up happens in May, but this will hold your spot.In order for this event to continue, new committee members are needed.

Now, if you sign up to lead a sub-committee on the Auction, you will be entered into a drawing for a scrip card. Please contact me yThursday, so I can draw a scrip winneron Friday this week. Thanks, Laurie Dybul
